The Atalanta History
Atalanta was founded in 1945 with the vision and commitment to become major, multifaceted, international trading and marketing company. Our founders, Leon Rubin and Herbert Moeller were among the first Americans to do business with Eastern European nations. In 1972, George Gellert was the second business person invited to the People’s Republic of China to build a working East-West business relationship.
Close working relationships with overseas partners from all over the world has enabled us to be the leading full-service food importer in the US. Our reputation for maintaining lasting, long-term business relationships, adapting our expertise to changing market conditions, delivering rock solid performance, and value has enabled us to succeed for over 65 years.
This rich history, experience, profound knowledge of our suppliers, sources, and constant attention to the changes in foreign and domestic markets has been the hallmark of our entrepreneurial development.
